Today's Highlight: UCA Mon 4-8-13 Today’s University and Community Activities are sponsored by Hellgate Hunters and Anglers with their 7th annual Wild Night for Wild Life, April 13th at 6pm at Karl Tyler Chevrolet in Missoula. With wild game appetizers, raffles and activities with guest speak retired chief game warden, Jeff Darra. Admittance includes membership. Tickets available at the door or Jeff at 546-8406.
Missoula Art Museum has two upcoming workshops. Teen Artist Workshop: Color and Shape Magic will be held on Wednesday, April 10th from 4-6pm. The workshop is free, with pizza and snacks provided. Preschool Art Start III for ages 3-5 will begin on Wednesday, April 10th from 10:30-11:30am, and will run through May 1st. Defenders of Wildlife, Montana Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology, and Montana Backcountry Alliance invites the public to Wolverine Night. This event will include a free screening of the documentary, “Wolverine: Chasing the Phantom”, followed by a panel discussion about wolverine biology and the recent proposal to protect wolverines under the Endangered Species Act. Wolverine Night will take place on Tuesday, April 9th from 7-9pm at Roxy Theater in Missoula. For more information, call 880-3797.
Missoula Public Library will host two upcoming free movie nights. World Wide Cinema will include a free showing of the French film “The Day I Saw Your Heart” with English subtitles. This movie will show on Friday, April 12th at 7pm. Cheap Date Night will include a free viewing of “Lincoln” on Friday, April 19th at 7pm. For more information about either event, call 721-2665.
UM Creative Writing Program invites the public to an Alice Notley Craft Lecture and Poetry Reading. The craft lecture will take place on Friday, April 12th from 12:10-1pm in Mcgill 210 on the UM Campus. The poetry reading will take place on Friday, April 12th at 7pm in the Dell Brown Room of Turner Hall on the UM Campus. For more information, call 243-5267.
FireSafe Montana, Missoula Fire Protection Association, and Bitterroot Resource and Conservation District will host a Home Wildfire Awareness Workshop where participants will learn how to keep homes, family, and property safe from wildfire. The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 9am-4:30pm at Bitterroot River Inn in Hamilton. Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 10th. For more information, call 431-8718.
