Today's Highlight: The St Ignatius Senior Citizens Center invites the public to its upcoming Spring Fling celebrations. A bake sale and raffle for a basket of spring items will be held this Friday in the center, and a Like-New Treasure Trove sale will begin Tuesday, April 2nd and will run through Friday, April 5th. Numerous other activities are planned at the St. Ignatius Senior Center, so give them a call at 754-4662 for more specific information.

The Bitterroot Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi will hold their annual Tulip Flower Sale beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29th. Tulips can be purchased from members in front of the Ravalli County Bank and at Parker’s Cannery Warehouse in Hamilton and Rocky Mountain Bank in Stevensville. Please call 375-1952 if you’d like more information on this flower sale.

Supporters of Abuse Free Environments in Hamilton will conduct SAFE
crisis-line volunteer training beginning on April 8th. Volunteers provide information and a listening ear to victims of domestic violence or sexual assault as well as to other callers. Call Theresa at 363-2793 if you’d like to volunteer or for more information.

On Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 o’clock, a grand re-opening of the exhibit, “Bertie Lord, Pioneer Photographer” will be held at the Ravalli County Museum in Hamilton. The evening will include a very unique game to search for clues and unravel “photo mysteries” created by the museum staff. For more complete details regarding this art exhibit, call Pat at 363-3338.

Missoula Urban Demonstration Project will host its 7th annual Earth Day Celebration in Caras Park on April 21st. Volunteers are currently needed to serve on the planning committee or help on the day of the event. The Columbia Falls Library Association conducts book sales on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 39 6th Street West, just one block east of the branch library. This Friday, March 29th at 7:00 o’clock, Tim Ryan will present a lecture titled, “Seasons of the Salish,” at the Montana Natural History Center, 120 Hickory Street in Missoula. During his evening lecture, Ryan will focus on the seasonal rounds or cycles of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Then, on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 – 4:00, Ryan will follow-up his lecture with a hands-on program demonstrating the material culture of these tribes. ALL ages will enjoy a variety of activities and have the opportunity to study various plant, bone, and rock materials. The International Choral Festival will occur July 17 – 20 in Missoula and is looking for over 200 individuals and families to host 600 international singers. The choirs from five continents will be coming from Costa Rica, Russia, Taiwan and Zimbabwe and will include several youth choirs.
