Today's Highlight: Today’s University and Community Activities are partly sponsored by UM Productions in Missoula who’ll be presenting “On Ensemble,” featuring Japanese drumming with elements of hip-hop, rock, and electronica. This performance will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 7:30 p.m.in the Dennison Theater at The University of Montana and is open to all UM students. Public ticket information can be found at all Griz Tix locations.
The Student Involvement Network at the University of Montana in Missoula is hosting an International Women's Day Celebration this Friday, March 8th. Activities begin at 11 am with exhibitions in the UC Atrium followed by a panel discussion on Women Succeeding in Science at 3pm. A closing fundraising banquet will be held in the UC Ballroom at 6pm with keynote speaker State Senator Carol Williams. All proceeds will go to the student group Griz for UNICEF. The Nurturing Center in Kalispell invites all interested parents to the workshop, “After the Storm – Surviving High Conflict Divorce.” The workshop is a program for educating parents about their conflict and emphasizes the benefits of maintaining a business-like relationship in parallel parenting. The workshop will be held tomorrow, March 7th. Please pre-register by calling the Nurturing Center at 756-7474.
The Helena Chamber of Commerce of Lewis and Clark County invites the public to a free green business workshop on Efficient Lighting Options and Cash Incentives. Topics to be covered are different efficient lighting options for different business needs and a presentation on North Western Energy’s cash incentives that are available to upgrade your lighting and increase energy efficiency. The workshop will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 7th at the Helena Chamber of Commerce, 225 Cruise Ave, Suite A. Call 447-8028 for more information.
An opening reception for a miniature art show at the Main Stope Gallery, 45 West Park Street in Butte, will take place on Thursday, March 7th from 4:00 – 7:00 o’clock. Everyone is invited to participate in a public artist selection advisory meeting of the Alpine Artisans. The Outdoor Program of the University of Montana invites the public to a free presentation titled, “The Trail Less Traveled,” a trip into the underground world of Asian black markets and ancient war tunnels.
