Today's Highlight: A free developmental and preschool screening clinic for children ages 0 to 5 in the Lolo and Woodman School Districts will be held at the Lolo Elementary School on Friday, February 22nd beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please call Kathy at 273-0451 to schedule an appointment for your child’s screening or to receive more information.
To benefit the Bitterroot Ecological Awareness Resources who provides weekly mentoring and outdoor connection activities to Bitterroot Valley youth, a screening of the film, “Radical Reels,” will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Hamilton Performing Arts enter. Come and experience more than a half dozen wild action sports as seen through the eyes of some of today’s top athletes. For more information, call 363-5410.
A Speech-Language and Hearing Advocacy Day will take place on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 at the University Center on the UM mountain campus in Missoula. The event is free and open to the public and features speakers from around the state, including Miss Montana, Alexis Wineman and Montana State Auditor, Monica Lindeen. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation invites the public to a series of free presentations by local authors and educationalists centering on wilderness stewardship, conservation, and recreation in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. The lectures will be held at the Flathead Valley Community College Arts and Technology Building in Kalispell on February 21, March 14 and April 11th. The public is encouraged to get inspired for the Missoula Public Library’s second annual Bookn’ It for the Library Fun Run/Walk that will be held July 27th. On
Monday evenings once a month, a Read and Run book discussion group will feature an optional 30 minute run/walk, with a book discussion and snacks afterwards provided by the library. Call 721-2665 or visit the website www.missoulapubliclibrary.org for details.
Lynx biologist John Squires will present a program on Lynx Research in Montana tomorrow night, February 21st at 7:00 o’clock at the Condon Work Center, 6887 MT Highway 83, near mile marker 43. Squires will present the natural history of lynx, current research, and predictions on future populations and management goals. Please call 754-3137 for any additional information.
