The Montana Natural History Center invites the public to enjoy the majesty of Montana’s winter raptors while learning identification techniques, anatomy, and behaviors. A class led by Denver Holt will take place in the Mission Valley on February 2nd, beginning at 9:00 a.m. For complete details and to preregister which is required, call the Montana Natural History Center at 327-0405.
The Columbia Falls Library will host a lecture on maple tapping tomorrow night, Thursday, January 31st from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Teakettle Community Hall, 325 Nucleus Ave in Columbia Falls. Call 892-5919 for more information.
On Sunday, February 3rd, the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will host a free opening reception for their new exhibit entitled, “Signs of the Times – a Trip Down Memory Lane.” The exhibit features over 300 original vintage sketches of Missoula business signs from 1945-1985. The reception will take place on Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the museum. For more information, call Robert at 728-3476.
A “1, 2, 3 Magic” parenting workshop will take place at the Nurturing Center in Kalispell on Thursday evenings beginning January 31st and running through February 21st. The workshop will help parents of children ages 2 - 12 to find ways to control obnoxious behavior, encourage good behavior, and strengthen relationships. This Saturday, February 2nd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Forest Voices, a new, not-for-profit in Missoula, will sponsor a Community Coffee event that will feature coffee roasting, coffee tasting, and story-sharing. Learn about direct trade, coffee CSA and student-course programs while sharing good coffee and conversation with friends and neighbors. The event will take place in the Forest Voices office, located at 4741 Sundown Road. Call 240-1050 for additional information.
