Polson Community Development Association invites the public to the Flathead Lake International Cinemafest. A weekend full of champagne, films, and award ceremonies. Flathead Lake Cinemafest will begin on Friday, Feburary 1st with an Opening Night Champagne Soiree and end on Sunday, February 3rd with a Closing Party and “Best Of” Awards Show from 3-4pm. This event will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson. For more information, including cost, call 274-0181.
Montana Natural History Center will host two events this week. “Come Get Your Bug On!” and meet the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium’s Bug Ambassadors- scorpions, tarantulas, millipedes and more, on Wednesday, January 30th at 7:15pm. Also, if you love science books and environmental literature, you are welcome to join the Science and Nature Book Club which will meet on Wednesday, January 30th from 5:30-6:30pm. Dan Fox Family Care Program of Youth Homes will host an Informational Meeting About Foster and Adoptive Parenting for anyone interested in becoming licensed to care for a child as foster or adoptive parents. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at 5:30pm at The Steamboat Building in Helena. For more information, call 443-4730.
The Museum at Central School in Kalispell invites the public to a free viewing of the movie “State of the Union”. The movie will show on Tuesday, January 29th at 7pm. For more information, call 756-8381.
The Nurturing Center will offer the Circle of Security Class again this year. Circle of Security is a relationship-based parenting program aimed at helping parents understand the needs of their children. The class will be held on Tuesday evenings from January 29th to March 19th at the Nurturing Center in Kalispell. For more information, or to register, call 756-1414.
