A Water Quality Issues Informational Program will be given by three water quality experts tomorrow evening from 7:00 – 8:30 at the Condon Work Center, 6887 Montana Highway 83. Topics will include the science of water, the difference between ground water and surface water, Missoula County’s role in water quality, septic systems, the role of local residents, and more. A free, closing lecture of the “Victorian Years” exhibit at the Ravalli County Museum will be given by archivist and living history interpreter, Anne Foster. The lecture will link fashion design to changes in gender roles, social status, industrialization, and politics. It will be given tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at the Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford in Hamilton. Call Pat at 363-3338 for any additional details.
Join the YWCA of Missoula for lunch to start the New Year off with a story of hope as told by a domestic violence survivor. The event will be held on Thursday, January 17th from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the YWCA, 1130 West Broadway Street in Missoula. Call 543-6691 for more information.
A contra dance will take place in Helena this Saturday, January 19th at The Placer, 21North Last Chance Gulch. Dance to lively old-time fiddle and guitar music by “Sassafras Stomp.” A workshop will precede the dance at 7:00 p.m. and the dance begins at 7:30. The Beekeepers of the Bitterroot invite the public to a beginning beekeeping workshop that will be held this Saturday from 9:00 am to noon at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Corvallis. The American Legion Hellgate Post No. 27 will hold a community dinner and dance for community members, active duty military members, veterans, and families. The dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday at the American Legion Hall, 825 Ronan Street in Missoula. Call 544-7889 for more information.
Bev Glueckert will instruct a collagraph printmaking workshop at the Missoula Art Museum on Saturday, January 19th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 o’clock. Collagraph is a simple process that uses collaged flat materials of different textures to create a variety of surprising and rich effects.
