An AARP Driver’s Safety course will be held at the Missoula Senior Center this Saturday, January 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 o’clock. Then, later that evening, the Center will hold a Saturday Night Dance with the Heart to Heart duo from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. For more information on either of these events or other activities at the Missoula Senior Center, please call 543-7154.
The annual meeting of the Alpine Artisans will be held this Sunday, January 13th in the Blackfoot Conference Center at the Double Arrow Resort near Seeley Lake. Partners in Home Care Hospice will conduct their January Blues Buster: “A Creative Journal Class” this Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Partners in Home Care, 2687 Palmer Street in Missoula. The class will cover the expressive practices of journaling and collage which can be helpful and healing tools through the journey of bereavement. To register, call Jen at 207-7554.
The Flathead Audubon Society of Kalispell invites everyone to a presentation by Dr. Richard Mace, research biologist for MT Fish, Wildlife and Parks, entitled, “30 years of Grizzly Bear Conservation in Western Montana.” Dr. Mace will trace the history of grizzly bear conservation efforts in the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem in western Montana. The presentation will be given at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14th at the Gateway Community Center on U.S. Highway 2 West in Kalispell. Call 837-0181 for further details.
The regular monthly meeting of the Bonner Milltown Community Council will be held this Monday, January 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Bonner School Library. Topics to discuss include air quality monitoring and burning permits; Blackfoot River debris removal; and access to the Milltown State Park at the Confluence. Additionally, the filing deadline for two Council positions is February 21st. Call 370-6584 for further information regarding either activity.
The annual joint meeting of the Native Plant Society and Five Valleys Audubon will be held at 7:30 p.m. next Monday, January 14th in room 123 of the Gallagher Business Building on The University of Montana campus in Missoula. Dave Hanna and the Nature Conservancy will present the program, “Ecology and Conservation of the Rocky Mountain Front” at this meeting. Call 360-8760 with any questions.
