The Museum at Central School in Kalispell will host a free historic book club event beginning at 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 10th. The featured book is “Frontier Soldier.” Then on Sunday, January 13th David Trexler will present, “Becoming Dinosaurs: A Prehistoric Perspective on Climate Change Today,” again at the Museum at Central School, 124 2nd Avenue East. Author, broadcaster, engineer and foundryman, Jack Wiegman will address the Five Valleys Pachyderm Club at noon on Friday January 11th at the Double Tree Hotel in Missoula. Mr. Wiegman will discuss, “Defending Against Illusion” in politics at noon. For further information, please call 239-7710.
The Flathead Nonprofit Development Partnership in Kalispell will conduct a free nonprofit town hall from 11:30 – 1:00 pm tomorrow, January 10th, at the Museum at Central School. This meeting is an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to come together, discuss issues facing nonprofits in the upcoming year and share ideas for thriving as a nonprofit sector. The public is invited to attend a forum sponsored by the American Lung Association regarding the factors that affect public health in the Missoula Valley. Presentations on the effects of wood stove emissions, vehicle and industrial emissions, wildfires, and concerns regarding coal trains and carbon pollution will be given by a panel of local experts and a public Q and A will follow. The forum will be held tomorrow night, January 10th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Missoula City Council Chambers, 140 West Pine Street. For more information, please contact Kim at 728-0368.
The Bitterroot Public Library will discuss the book entitled, “The Road Less Traveled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth.” The discussion will begin at 7:30 tomorrow night in the West Community Meeting Room of the Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton. The Zootown Arts Community Center in Missoula invites everyone to a Second Friday Art Show featuring the work of Nikki Rosignol entitled, “Dual Nature.” Come to the ZACC, located at 235 North 1st Street from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. to enjoy an evening of art, food, beverages and community.
