Jazz Montana is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a weekend full of jazz! The MSU Jazz Orchestra and Al Hood will perform Friday, November 1st at the MSU School of Music. Judy Carmichael and Harry Allen will perform Saturday, November 2nd at the Ellen Theater.
The Ryan Matzinger Quartet will perform Sunday, November 3rd at the Ellen Theater. North By Northwest will perform on Monday, November 4th. Tickets for MSU events are available at the door. Tickets for events at The Ellen Theater are available at theellentheatre.com.

MAPS Media Institute will host Lights On for AfterSchool Parent Days to raise awareness of the importance of after school programs. Students will teach parents and other attending community members what they are learning at MAPS. This event will take place on Tuesday, October 30th and Thursday, November 1st from 4:30-6:30pm at MAPS Media Institute in Hamilton. For more information, call 381-7230.

The Mansfield Center continues its Fall 2012 Brown Bag Lunch Series this week with “Second (Third and Fourth) Thoughts on geo-engineering: Governance and Ethics in Climate Engineering Research”, presented by Professors Jane Long and Nancy Tuana. The Lecture will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at noon in room 330 of the University Center on the UM Campus. For more information, call 243-2988.

The Word Affairs Council of Montana will host “Harnessing the Power of Education: RESULTS in Action” where speakers will discuss their experiences working for global health and education in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Niger. UM Women’s and Gender Studies, Women’s Resource Center, and Blue Mountain Clinic present “The Abortion Monologues” by Jane Cawthorne.
