Today's Highlight: Today’s University and Community Activities are partly sponsored by the Annual Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival, August 24th through the 26th with family activities including Highland games, dance, pipe and drum competitions, demonstrations, medieval reenactments, vendors, and cultural food. Bonner Milltown Community Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight to discuss potential community impacts of increased rail traffic and benefits of the proposed increase in coal exports. The Council will vote on a resolution to request an area-wide impact study of the proposed increase in coal exports. The meeting will be held tonight at 7pm in the Bonner School Library. Fact and Fiction will host a public book reading where Jim Moore will read from his newest novel, Election Day. Moore will be available to sign books after the reading. The reading will be held on Tuesday, August 14th at 7pm at Fact and Fiction, 220 North Higgins, Missoula. For more information call 721-2881.
In conjunction with the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, BWAM is hosting “The Greener Side of Green Streets: Reducing Pavement Footprints”.
The webinar will take place Tuesday, August 14th at noon in the Adventure Cycling Conference Room, 150 East Pine Street, Missoula. Pre-register to receive a free lunch during the presentation. More information at bikewalkmissoula.org
