Today's Highlight: Five Valleys Audubon invites the public to a weekend of bird watching on the Rocky Mountain Front. Participants will meet at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th and spend an overnight in Choteau and Freezout Lake and then the Rocky Mountain Front on Sunday, May 20th. Participants are asked to bring food for lunches and snacks, and make their own lodging reservations. For complete details, call 542-5014.

The public is invited to a solar hot water systems workshop that will take place this Saturday, May 19th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. in the Missoula County Extension Conference room, 2825 Santa Fe Court. You’ll learn about solar hot water system options that work well in Montana, costs, current financial incentives, and what to ask an installer. Pre-registration is required for this free workshop by contacting Susan at 994-2225.

An Apprentice-Level Beekeeping class will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays for nine class meetings, beginning Monday, May 21st. The course features the basics of keeping honey bees, including bee biology and care of bees throughout the year. Enrollment is limited, so be sure to register soon at www.umt.edu/bee.

Teens living in Gallatin and Park Counties who are interested in strengthening their leadership skills and making a positive impact on their communities are invited to apply for this year’s Youth Leadership Camps. The camp for Park County teens will take place June 18 – 22, and the camp for Gallatin County teens runs from July 9 – 13. This Saturday, May 19th an Armed Forces Day Parade will take place in Helena, beginning at 1:00 o’clock. The parade will start at the Lewis and Clark Library and will include military vehicles and personnel, veteran organizations, military families, antique military vehicles, and more. To benefit the Museum at Central School in Kalispell, the 2nd Annual Ladies Luncheon will take place this Saturday, May 19th, with doors opening at 12:30 and lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased now at the museum or on the day of the event.
