Today's Highlight: Art Mobile of Montana will be in residence in the Seeley-Swan schools this week. Instructor Jennifer Thompson will present gallery talks and hands-on classes to students. The public is welcome to attend these presentations which will take place during school hours on February 28th at SVS, 29th at SLE and March 1st at SSHS.

Two University of Montana School of Art MFA thesis exhibitions, “Giving the Ghost” and “Suspension of Belief” will be on display in the Gallery of Visual Arts beginning tomorrow and running through March 16th. The Gallery is open 11am-5pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 11am-6pm on Thursdays. For more information call Cathryn at 243-2813.

The YWCA of Great Falls will offer a Parenting Class and a First Aid class this week. The Parenting Class will be held tomorrow evening from 6-7:30, call 452-1315 to register. The First Aid Class will be held tomorrow evening from 6-8, call 452-7449 to register.

The Spring 2012 Brown Bag Lecture Series will host a lecture this week titled, “Literature and the Vietnam War: A Comparative Perspective” by Quan Manh, assistant professor of American literature and ethnic studies, UM Department of English. The lecture will be held February 29th from noon to 1pm in the Mansfield Conference Room in the Mansfield Library. For more information call 243-2988.

The World Affairs Council of Montana invites the public to attend Global Connections, featuring the high school Academic WorldQuest Competition. In this trivial competition, students compete for the chance to represent Montana at the National Academic WorldQuest Competition in Washington, D.C. The competition begins tomorrow at 4:30pm in the 3rd floor ballroom of the UC on the UM campus. For more information call 728-3328.

The Montana Abolition Coalition will host a Death Penalty Movie Night. The movie night includes three documentary films highlighting issues that surround the death penalty, and opportunities for discussion. The movie night will take place February 29th at 7pm in the UM Law School Room 101 and is free and open to the public. For more information call 721-5558.

The Wild Mercy Reading Series continues this week with Environmental Studies undergrad student Emerald LaFortune and visiting writer David Oates reading their work at Wild Mercy. The reading will be held February 29th at 7pm in the UM FLAT Studio, 633 5th Street East, Missoula. For more information, email elizabeth.baker@umontana.edu.
