Today's Highlight: On the second Saturday of each month, the Florence Firefighters Association hosts a free pancake breakfast and open house. A free child restraint check-up is available and free booster seats may be available to families who qualify. Breakfast will be served this month from 8:00 a.m. to noon this Saturday, December 10th at the Florence Fire Hall, 234 Holloway Lane. Call 550-3475 if you’d like more information.

The Bonner Milltown Community Council invites public input at their monthly meeting next Monday on what elements of local history residents would like to have interpreted. This information will be used during the planning for the historic interpretation, “Nature and Culture at the Confluence, Interpreting Milltown.” The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Bonner School Library. The nonprofit organization, Hopa Mountain, invites all Native American students attending a tribal college in MT or Wyoming to apply for a $2,500 or a $5,000 Native Science Fellowship. The Florence Carlton Parents and Teachers invite everyone to their annual Holiday Bazaar this Saturday December 10th in the Florence School Old Gym. Events include free pony rides, pictures with Santa, over 50 vendors, as well as breakfast and lunch options that will be available for purchase. The University of Montana School of Art Students organization will hold it annual Art Annex Holiday Show and Sale this weekend. The sale of student, faculty and alumni work will be held this Friday, December 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Art Annex, adjacent to the Grizzly Pool on the mountain campus in Missoula. Sign-ups are now being accepted for the Montana Natural History Center’s 12-week Spring Master Naturalist Class.
