Hospice of Missoula invites the public to a series of volunteer training classes that will be held in their office, located at 800 Kensington, Suite 204. Classes will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on February 17th, 24th, March 3rd and March 10th. To register or for other information on this class, call 543-4408.
A permaculture lecture by Paul Wheaton on wofati eco buildings will be held tomorrow night, February 17th at 6:30 pm in the large conference room of the Missoula Public Library, 301 E. Main Street. A wofati can be a home, animal shelter, or a root cellar. The lecture is free and open to the public. Call 949-290-5887 if you have any questions on this lecture.
The public is invited to take part in the Flathead Audubon Society’s 14th annual Great Backyard Bird Count Field Trip that will be held in the Bigfork area with experienced birders. The count will take place this Friday morning, February 18th. Call Kathy at 837-3837 for the specific meeting time, location, and further information.
The interns at the Flathead Valley Community College Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen invite the public to a Chef’s Table this Friday night, February 18th from 6:00 – 8:30. Come support the college and indulge in a fine dining experience. Appetizers will be served at 6:00 pm with dinner following at 6:30. Reservations are required and tickets may be purchases online at fvcc.edu/chefstable or in the Foundation Office or by calling 756-3963.
Join the Butte Public Library’s book club discussion of “Farenheit 451” this Friday, February 18th. The book club meets in the St John’s Episcopal Church, located directly across Idaho Street from the Uptown Library Branch. Books are available for check-out approximately one month in advance. Alliance Française Missoula invites the public to a special viewing of the exhibit of French and European art : Renoir, Magritte, Gaugin and Other European Masterpieces. This exhibit is on display by the Montana Museum of Art and Culture in the Meloy and Paxson Galleries in the PARTV Center on The University of Montana mountain campus. A reception with hors d’oeuvres and no-host bar will be held this Friday evening, 4-6pm with introductory remarks by Prof. Michel Valentin.
