Today's Highlight: VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will be offering free tax preparation to anyone with an income of less than $49,000. You can find these qualified volunteers every Saturday between now and March 12th from 9 am to 4 pm in Room 119 of the Gallagher Building on the UM campus in Missoula. Visit irs.gov and search VITA for details on what to bring in.
On Saturday February 12th St. Patrick’s Hospital and the International Heart Institute in Missoula will hold their 2011 Heart Expo. Running from 7 am to 12 noon. There will be displays, demonstrations and information booths on heart related issues, low-cost testing will be available as well as lectures on the latest advances in treating heart disease. The event is free and open to the public. Call 329.5668 for additional information and costs for available tests.
Project Linus is holding a Blanket Bee on Saturday February 12th at the Moose Lodge in Black Eagle. From 10:30 am to 2:30 pm all interested teens and adults can participate in creating blankets to be given to kids facing medical, emotional or other life challenges. Call 866.2318 for details.
The Ninepipe Arts Group is hosting a Valentine’s day Party on Saturday February 12th at the Leon Community Clubhouse on Leon Road outside of Charlo. The party starts at 6:30, cost is $10.00 and there will be music, art and delectable desserts. Call Caroline at 644.2311 for more info.
