Brynie has written 25 books for children, teens, and adults about various scientific and health topics. Several of her books have won "Best of the Year" honors from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and she's received accolades from the International Reading Association and the National Science Teachers Association.
Brynie's latest book is the focus of our conversation today. It's titled, Brain Sense: The Science of the Senses and How We Process the World Around Us.
She regularly writes articles for several websites and science magazines. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Over the course of her career, she has worked as a laboratory scientist, medical technician, teacher, and university professor. She's held jobs in the publishing industry ranging from copy editor to editorial director. Faith Hickman Brynie lives with her husband in Bigfork, Montana.
