Today's Highlight:
The Great Falls Public Library is hosting a special event celebrating Black History Month and the history of the Great Falls’ Afro-American community on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:00 p.m. The program highlights one of the community’s most notable persons, Alma Smith Jacobs, the first black library director in Montana who served the Great Falls Public Library from 1954 – 1973. She also co-founded Humanities Montana in 1972. For more information on this event, or other programs at the Great Falls Public Library, call Lisa at 453-0349.

Adventure Cycling and The University of Montana’s Outdoor Program department invite the public to attend another travel adventure with Willie Weir – this time through Portugal. Willie will present his stories and travel tips on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Urey Lecture Hall on The University of Montana mountain campus in Missoula. For more details, call 243-5172.

Frank Stomp, the department head of the Information Technology and Computer Engineering Department of Salish Kootenai College, will present a public lecture this Friday, February 4th from 12 – 1:00 pm in the Johnny Arlee and Victor Charlo Theater in Pablo. Mr. Stomp’s lecture will focus on mathematics, computer science and conjectures. For more information on this lecture and others in the Friday series, call Anita at 275-4800.

The Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton will hold a Toddler Story Time this Friday, February 4th from 10:30 – 11:15 a. m. in the west meeting room of the library. If you’d like more information on this and other programs at the Bitterroot Public Library, call Sally at 363-1670.

Headwaters RC&D and the State SBA office will hold an informational
training class to assist small businesses with financing options. The class will be held Wednesday, February 9th from 10:00 – 1:30 in the Anaconda Community Center located at 118 E. 7th Street in Anaconda. Reservations are required by this Friday, February 4th by calling Julie at 533-6780.

HomeWord of Missoula invites the public to attend a “Get Ready for Home Ownership” series of classes that will be held at the First United Methodist Church. The classes will be held from 6 – 9 pm on February 8, 10, 15, and 17th and childcare vouchers are available for Busy Hands Fun Center.
