North Valley Hospital in Stevensville is hosting Cheap Movie Night the 3rd Saturday each month. This Saturday, January 15th, the movie will be “Blue Lady”. Doors open at 6:45, movie starts at 7pm. Please be on time. Popcorn is provided, bring your own non-alcoholic drinks. Admission is free. Call the library at 777-5061 for information.

On Saturday January 15th the newly formed state-wide nonprofit, the Montana Horse Welfare Council, will meet in Bozeman, at the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter 1549 Cameron Bridge Road. All horse enthusiasts are invited. Call Kathy Leudtke at 396.8758 for details.

The Missoula Folklore Society is sponsoring a Contra Dance on Saturday January 15th at the Union Hall at 208 East Main. The event starts with a beginners workshop at 7:30, followed by dancing from 8 to 11 pm. Admission is $8, $6 for members. Call 543.6508 or go online at missoulafolk.org for more information.

The Missoula County Fish, Wildlife and Parks will close Kona Bridge Fishing Access from January 16th through March 31st. The sight will reopen to motor vehicle access on April 1st. Questions can be directed to Lisa Moisey at 542.3432.

NCBI Missoula, the National Coalition Building Institute, and the MLK Day Planning Committee have developed a day full of Celebration in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. On Monday, January 17th a full day of service is being coordinated through First Baptist Church. At 5pm a rally will be held at Caras Park to end anti-gay bullying, followed by a candlelight march to First United Methodist Church where UM professor Dr. Mehrdad will speak.
