University & Community Activities for January 05, 2011

Today's Highlight: The Helena Hunter and Anglers Association will hold its January meeting at 7:00 pm TONIGHT in the Montana Wildlife Federation conference room, 5530 North Montana Avenue in Helena. The featured speakers for the meeting are Jake Troyer of the MT Wilderness Association and Bill Geer of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partners. Coffee and cookies will be provided. The Zootown Arts Community Center, located at 235 North 1st Street in Missoula, invites young adults ages 12 – 16 to its Young Adult Art Prep class THIS AFTERNOON from 3:30 – 5:00 o’clock. John Gieser and Hanna Hannan are the featured artists. Call the Center at 549-7555 if you’d like more information on this class.

Four positions on the North Valley Public Library’s Board of Trustees are open for election in 2011. Filing packets are available at the library, located at 208 Main Street in Stevensville, or at the Ravalli County Election Administrator’s office in Hamilton. Packets must be returned by February 17th. For more information, please call the library at 777-5061.

Patrons of the Public Library in Butte can now enjoy free bus rides to the new South Branch location in the Butte Plaza Mall. All you need to do is to present your library card to the bus driver and hop on board! If you’d like information on any of the activities at the library, you can call Regan at 723-3361.

Turning the Wheel will conduct an adult tapestry series of classes from 7:30 – 9:00 pm, January 6th through May 5th at the Downtown Dance Collective, 121 West Main Street in Missoula. The classes encompass movement exercises that create opportunity for dynamic play, reflection, and community sharing. More information may be obtained by calling 830-3285.

The Missoula Senior Center will hold numerous classes and activities this week and the public is invited to attend. Activities on the docket include T’ai Chi, scrabble, pinochle, bridge, yoga, line dancing, and even a birthday party! For specific dates and times regarding any of these activities, call the Center at 543-7154.
