Today's Highlight: "Regina Carter with Reverse Thread and Stefon Harris with Blackout" What do the sounds of the violin, kora, accordion, vibraphone and vocoder have in common? In the hands of innovative jazz fiddler Regina Carter and vibraphonist Stefon Harris, they explore their past to create a very contemporary sound. With kora player Yacouba Sissoko and accordionist Will Holshouser, Carter explores the music of Africa – from Ugandan Jewish songs to traditional folk music of Madagascar and Mali. Harris and his band Blackout find inspiration in the funk and soul sound of the 70s. Wendell Pierce hosts
