Today's Highlight: Today’s University and Community Activities are partly sponsored by “Hooked on Art,’ an art festival in Bonner honoring the late Walter Hook and featuring artist Bob Phinny. Also featured are over 30 artists, live music, lunch, and workshops. “Hooked on Art” will be held Saturday, February 13th from 10 am to 4 pm at Bonner School.
Local teens are invited to Flathead County Library’s 3rd Annual Anti-Valentine’s Day Party tomorrow, Thursday, February 11th from 4 – 6 pm at the Kalispell Main Library. Refreshments and fun activities are featured. For more information, please contact Martha at 758-5713.
On Thursday, February 11th, Carroll College Business Department Chair, Dr. Jerry Pohlman will present a lecture titled, “The Great Turnaround, or Another Downturn? The Economic Outlook in Perspective.” The lecture will begin at 6:00 pm in Carroll’s Simperman Hall in Helena. Call 447-5415 for more information.
The Non-Profit Development Partnership in Kalispell invite the public to a discussion by Carol Blake of the North Valley Hospital Foundation titled, “Securing a Gift- It’s More than Just Money.” The presentation will be given tomorrow from 11:30 am – 1 pm at the Museum at Central School. The public is invited to a lecture given by polar explorer, Will Steger, who will bring eyewitness stories and footage of global warming from extreme polar expeditions. The presentation will be given tomorrow night, February 11th at 7:00 pm in the Urey Lecture Hall on the University of Montana campus in Missoula. The Missoula Urban Demonstration Project will host a second charrette to discuss redevelopment site designs and obtain community input for its future direction. The event will be held at 6:30 pm in the Zootown Arts Community Center, 235 North 1st Street West. Call 721-7513 for more information.
The YWCA of Missoula will host an 8-week series of programs designed to reconnect women to their “best selves” in a safe and welcoming environment. The series will be held Friday mornings from 8 to 10:30 am beginning this Friday February 12th. The sessions will take place at the YWCA’s Planet Kids, which is located in the basement of the Missoula Aging Services at 337 Stephens Avenue. To learn more, contact Jen at 543-6691.
