Guest host Renee Rosnes introduces Romanian jazz sensation Marian Petrescu. This dazzling player has been tearing up the European jazz scene since he was 15. Petrescu pays homage to his childhood idol, Oscar Peterson, performing Peterson's erroneously named "A Little Jazz Exercise" before joining Rosnes for "My Romance"
For over 20 remarkable years, jazz pianist Marian McPartland and her guests have teamed up for an hour of weekly jazz sessions. Whether it's solos, collaboration, reminiscences, or straight talk about influences and style, no two Piano Jazz sessions are ever the same.
More than 500 exciting, talented, jazz professionals (newcomers and all-time favorites) have joined Marian over the years. In fact, Piano Jazz, a production of South Carolina Educational Radio, has been hailed as the "definitive" place to hear the greats of jazz.
