Today's Highlight: The International Wildlife Media Center at the Roxy Theater in Missoula will hold two ‘School’s Out’ matinees on Tuesday the 29th and Thursday the 31st of December. Cost is $2 per person and screenings begin at noon each day. Some of the best wildlife films of the year will be presented and concessions will be available. The YWCA in Great Falls is offering 2 classes next week. A CPR class will be held on Tuesday December 29th from 6-8 pm. The cost is $30 for a 2 year certification and pre-registration is required. Call 452.7449. Also, a parenting class will be offered beginning Wednesday December 30th. Learn techniques to deal with stressful situations. Cost is $10 for each session and is available for immediate family members. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. To sign up call 452.1315.

Need something fun to do over the school break? The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library is opening its gaming facility for free play for teens and tweens on Tuesday December 20th from 1-3 pm. The Helena based Montana Discovery Foundation is offering 2 hiking and snowshoeing opportunities. These hikes are free and open to the public but require reservations if equipment is needed. The first is a moonlight hike (on snowshoes depending on conditions) leaving from the Moose Creek Cabin on Rimini Road west of Helena. The cabin will be open for tours and snacks will be provided. Hikes leave from the cabin at 7 and 8 pm and last about 1 hour. The second event is a snow school day in Lincoln. The hikes begin behind the DNRC building on Sucker Creek. The hikes will take approximately 1 hour and will start every hour between 10 am and 2 pm. This is an opportunity to learn to use snowshoes and to explore the ‘Nature’s Playground’ community project. The Kalispell Area Music Teacher’s Association is holding a Scholarship Alumni Concert at the Glacier High School Auditorium. The concert will be held Tuesday December 29th at 7 pm. Tickets will be available at the door and the cost is $15 for adults, $8 for students and $35 for families. Call Maryruth Fallon at 752.1490 for details.
