Today's Highlight: Two Creeks Community School on Roosevelt Lane in Hamilton invites the public to join them on Thursday, December 17th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. for their 7th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration, “Gifts of the Solstice.” Two Creeks students have prepared a short program and then celebrate the longest night of the year by bundling up by a warm fire and share holiday treats with everyone. “Scribbles,” a creative writers group for grades 7 – 9 will meet at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, December 17th at the Missoula Public Library. This will be an opportunity for teens to share their writing and take part in creativity exercises. For further information on this, and other programs at the library, call 721-2665.
The Missoula Art Museum invites the public to their “Artini Thursday” from 5:30 – 9:00 pm tomorrow night at the museum, 335 North Pattee Street. The featured artist is Freeman Butts whose expressionist work explores the figure and the landscape. Bob Wire will make you get your holiday groove on and MAM Registrar, Ted Hughes, will opine on expressionism at 6pm. For more information, call 728-0447.
The Bitterroot Public Library’s “Brown Bag It” book discussion will meet tomorrow, December 17th from noon to 1:00 p.m. The discussion will explore “The Uncommon Reader” by Alan Bennett and will also make selections for 2010. Then, at 7:00 o’clock at the library, the adult foreign film, “The Country Teacher,” will be shown in the West Meeting Room.
