Today's Highlight: A community discussion titled, “Libby, Montana: The Next Conversation,” will be held Thursday, December 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Gallagher Business Building on the University of Montana mountain campus in Missoula. Ballet Bitterroot is presenting “Dreams of the Nutcracker” Thursday through Saturday, December 5th at 7:00 o’clock in the Hamilton Performing Arts Center. The Center is located at 327 Fairgrounds Road in Hamilton. Call 961-1818 for ticket prices or other information.
The University Center at The University of Montana in Missoula will host the 38th annual Holiday Art Fair Thursday through Saturday, December 3 – 5th. The fair features handcrafted art by local and regional artists will be open from 9 – 6 Thursday and Friday and from 9 – 4 on Saturday. The event also features live music and door prizes. Female hockey teams from Canada and the northwestern states will compete in the Whitefish Winter Face-Off December 4th – 6th. The tournament will be held at the Stumptown Ice Den on Wisconsin Avenue in Whitefish. Call them at 862-2477 for game times or other information.
The Brunswick Artists’ Studio, located at 223 W. Railroad Street in Missoula, will hold its annual Holiday Open House December 3rd – 5th. Artists are exhibiting photography, oil on canvas, encaustics, ceramics, and charcoal. The Studio will be open from 5-8 pm on Thursday and Friday and from 11 am – 4 pm on Saturday. The Creative Writing Program at The University of Montana in Missoula invites the public to a reading given by author Peter Orner, who is the Kittredge Visiting Writer at The University of Montana this semester. The reading will be given Friday, December 4th at 7PM in the Dell Brown Room of Turner on the UM mountain campus. For more information, call 243-5267.
To help benefit the Habitat for Humanity in Missoula, the public is invited to an exhibit opening of photographs of France, Quebec, and Montana by photographer Suzette Dussault. The opening will be from 5 – 8 PM on Friday, December 4th at 1429 Higgins Avenue in Missoula.
The 12th annual Community Festival of the Nativity in Helena will be held on December 4th from 6 – 9 PM and from 2 – 6 PM on December 5th. The event will be held at 1260 Otter Road and will benefit Helena’s Friendship Center. Call Julie at 443-3275 for complete details.
