Mark Twain made his mark on Montana with many visits to the Treasure State. Stop by Fort Owen State Park in Stevensville tomorrow, August 6th at 8pm to witness Delaney – a Mark Twain impersonator- present Twain’s unique perspective of his time here. Call Julie at 375-2606 for more information.

It’s never too early for a Monster Mash! The Missoula Art Museum offers a chance for 8 to 13 year olds to unleash their inner mad scientists and create 3-D monsters and papier-mâché masks. Kids will use tempera paint and found objects from 1 to 3pm on August 10th through the 13th. A registration fee of $50, or $45 for members, applies. Call 728-0447 with any questions.
The Ravalli County Museum, in Hamilton, welcomes Call of the Wild, a new art exhibit of Ed and Marilyn Wolff’s work. Come and enjoy an evening with the artists at the grand opening on August 8th at 7pm. They will share their inspiration, concept and the execution of their art. The exhibit runs through November 5th. Don’t miss Waterton-Glacier’s Science & History Day! Scientists will explain the latest results of their research on grizzlies, wolves of Alberta, Invasive Species and Climate Change. Listen to stories commemorating the 75th anniversary of FDR’s visit to Glacier National Park. Ever wanted to get involved with Habitat for Humanity? This month’s “Habitat 101” session offers an intro to the local need for more affordable housing and how Habitat for Humanity of Missoula works to meet that need. Come by the Missoula Public Library’s Board Room on Tuesday August 11th from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Dave at 549-8210 has more information.
The Montana Antique Airplane Association is bringing three days of just plane fun to Three Forks this weekend. A sample of the fun includes competitions, antique airplanes, pancake breakfasts, people watching and a BBQ dinner. Check it out Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Three Forks Airport. Are you keeping your roots authentic? The Western Montana Fair is offering free admission to the West lawn Market where you can learn about locally harvested food. There will be ‘seed to table’ food demonstrations, like four season gardening, composting, canning and preserving, presented in a basic “how to” approach.
