Petersen is Development Director of Wildlands CPR, the only national conservation group in the United States that specifically targets off-road vehicle abuse of public lands and actively promotes wildland restoration, road removal, and the prevention of new road construction.
Petersen received an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana, with a focus on creative writing. He has published nature essays in Orion, ISLE, and other magazines. And he is the editor of the book, A Road Runs Through It: Reviving Wild Places, published by Johnson Books.
Tom Petersen lives in Missoula.
