Today's Highlight: A benefit fund for 5 year old Myccah HermsMeyer (spelled M-y-c-c-a-h), who was severely burned on Friday, October 24th of this year has been set up through First Security Bank of Montana. Myccah’s family is looking for donations to help with surgery costs and financial support in this time of need. Call 728-3115 to arrange a donation and get more information about how to help.
The University of Montana Campus Recreation Department will be holding a Clinic on the use and importance of Transceivers as part of it’s outdoor program this Saturday, December 13th from 9 am to 1:00pm at the University of Montana Campus in Missoula. Those interested should register no later than today, December 9th. The clinic is $15.00 and will include hands-on instruction and a beacon. Call 243-5172 for more information.
Hellgate Elementary School will be conducting their annual Early Childhood Screening today, December 9th and tomorrow the 10th from Noon to 4:00pm in the Hellgate Elementary K-2 Building, 2385 Flynn Lane in Missoula. Developmental screening for children up to 3 years old will be conducted, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder Screening for children ages 18 months to 5 years. A Pet Safety Workshop dealing with keeping your dog safe from the various traps laid about the wilds of Montana will be held tomorrow, December 10th at 6pm at the Missoula Public Library. Trapping and Hunting season is on, learn how to act quickly if your pet is caught in a trap, or avoid it altogether. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the food bank. Call 549-6663 for more information.
A Homebuyer’s Education Class will be held this evening, December 9th and tomorrow evening December 10th at the William K. Kohrs Memorial Library 501 Missouri Avenue in Deer Lodge from 5 to 9:00pm. The cost of the class is $20 per person. Call 782-7333 for more information.
Come join “Page Turners”, a book club for kids that will be meeting tomorrow night, December 10th at 7pm in the Missoula Public Library, 301 East Main Street in Missoula. The Daly Mansion in Hamilton will be opening its doors for tours and a series of family events every Friday from 11am to 4pm and 6 to 8pm through December 20th.
