Today's Highlight: "The Music Of Gil Evans and More " Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra adapt popular and folk songs of Europe and Russia, works by Gil Evans, and Igor Stravinsky's rarely heard Ebony Concerto (written for the Woody Herman Orchestra). Italian saxophone sensations Stefano Di Battista and 14-year-old Francesco Cafiso join the proceedings for "La Paloma" and "Bluesette."
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Peabody Award–winning radio series, Jazz From Lincoln Center, is hosted by Wynton Marsalis and broadcast weekly to over 240 public radio affiliates nationwide through the Jazz Satellite Network. The show features the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with contemporary jazz composers and performers.
