Today's Highlight: The National Folk Festival in Butte scheduled for July 11 – 13 is looking for numerous volunteers to donate their time before, during, and after the festival. Volunteer shifts can be as little as 4 hours of your time in areas such as music loggers, beer ticket sales, parking attendants, beverage and ice delivery, garbage pickup, and for the adventurous, floaters who can to take anybody's volunteer job in the entire festival. The Missoula Art Museum is offering free Open Studio Nights throughout the summer for teens ages 13 – 18. The Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization is hosting a “Dust to Dazzle Renovation Home Tour” this Saturday, June 28th from noon to 5:00 p.m. in uptown Butte. The tour is designed to showcase six projects in various stages of renovation and the owners will be on site for discussion. The public is invited to learn how to think like a dog and not think human this Saturday, June 28th at the Flathead City/County Health Department in Kalispell. Training sessions on dog behavior, bite behavior, aggression, and communication will be given from 8:30 am to 5:30 p.m. for a cost of $50 per person with snacks and lunch provided. The Missoula Public Library’s new teen room is now ready to open. The public is invited to an Open House for all ages from 4 – 6 p.m. this Saturday with refreshments and door prizes available. Teens ages 13 – 18 can stay after hours from 6 – 8 p.m. for a “We Survived the Renovations” party that will include “Survivor” challenges, prizes and treats. The Flathead Audubon Society of Kalispell invites the public to spend a morning with the loons this Saturday, June 28th. Gather to meet the Loon Ranger at the MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks building, 490 North Meridian, at 8:00 am and take a provided van or, you can drive your own high-clearance, all-wheel-drive vehicle. The American Red Cross is conducting a number of blood drawings this week. Tomorrow, they’ll be at the Thompson Falls High School Gymnasium and in Kalispell at the National Flood in their Blood Mobile. On Friday, the Blood Mobile travels to the First Interstate Bank /AAA of Montana in Kalispell, at Spring Creek in Thompson Falls and at the Southgate Mall in Missoula on Friday as well as on Saturday. The NWS PEACE Program is seeking local host families for the upcoming high school year for students coming from a variety of countries around the world. The students have medical insurance and will bring their own spending money. The students will be matched with their host families by July 1st and will begin to arrive in August.
