Today's Highlight: The public is invited to attend a fundraiser for the Clark Fork Watershed Education Program on Thursday, June 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Quarry Brewing in Butte. Discussions regarding the history of the Clark Fork Basin and the restoration of the watershed project is featured as well as live music and an opportunity to enjoy a Butte beer. The Montana Association of Weavers and Spinners will host a free Community Day at the Carroll College Campus Center in Helena tomorrow, June 19th from noon to 9:00 pm. Enjoy weaving, spinning, knitting, and basketry demonstrations as well as vendor booths for fiber shopping. For a demonstration schedule, visit the Web site: www.mawsonline.org/Events/html.

The first performance for the 2008 Summer Concert Series of the Bitterroot Community Band will begin tomorrow night, June 19th at 8:00 pm in the Claudia Driscoll Park in Hamilton. Admission is free. For a schedule or other concert information, contact Shawn at 642-3224.

Tomorrow night at 7:00 pm the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will host, “Our Hour of Proof: Missoula and the 1918 Flu Pandemic,” by Ellen Leahy, Director of the Missoula City/County Health Department. Then, the following Thursday night, June 26th at 7:00 pm, the Historical Museum will host the program, “Treasure State Remnants,” by photographer Lee Silliman. Both programs are free to the public. Two, lunch hour history walks featuring Missoula County sheriffs and Missoula mayors will take place at the Missoula Cemetery this summer. On Friday, June 20th at noon, Capt. Susan Hintz and Capt Willis Hintz will bring to life 14 Missoula county sheriffs and will highlight the local historical events to which each sheriff contributed. Admission is free with donations gladly accepted. All ages are welcome and bring your brown-bag lunch if you wish. Call Mary Ellen at 552-6070 for more information.

The Missoula Hellgate High School Class of 1998 will hold its 10-year class reunion beginning at 6:30 pm Friday, June 20th at the Holiday Inn Parkside. The evening will feature Reverend Slanky’s “PBR Band of the Year,” catered food, and a no-host bar. A family barbeque will take place at Bonner Park the following day from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. The Women’s Foundation of Montana is hosting a public discussion and fundraiser with national pollster, political strategist, and author, Celinda Lake this Saturday, June 21st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Myrna Loy Center in Helena. Ms Lake will be sharing the results of her polling on women and how they are changing the face of America politically, socially, and economically. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling Jodi at 443-8313.

Teens ages 13 – 18 are invited to share what they’re reading and get some good recommendations, too, by joining the Missoula Public Library’s new Readers Club. The Readers Club meets every Wednesday at 4:00 pm from June 25 – Aug. 13thand snacks will be provided. For more information, call the library at 721-2665.
