Today's Highlight: The Montana Natural History Center in Missoula is now enrolling for Summer Science Discovery Camps. Twenty-eight different camps with themes like Predators and Prey, Naturalist Explorers and Adventures in Science are available this summer. If you are interested in starting or financing a small business in the Butte area, the Headwaters Small Business Development Center invites you to a workshop tomorrow, May 28th, from 10am until noon at the Business Development Center, 305 W. Mercury, Room 209 in Butte. The class will cover topics such as writing a business plan, marketing, cash flow projections, loan information and industry profiles. The cost for the workshop is $10. The community is invited to participate in Dragon Hollow Clean- up and Fix-up Day, Wednesday May 28th beginning at 8am at the playground in Missoula. The group will seal wood surfaces, make small repairs, replace wood chips and generally make sure the play area is safe and clean for another busy summer. Supplies and materials will be provided but spare wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes and gloves for use by other volunteers would be appreciated. Call 549-8382 if you have any questions.

Camp Patriot, a non-profit organization founded in Montana in 2005 has sponsored numerous hunting, fishing and mountain climbing trips for returning combat injured and disabled veterans as recreational therapy. This week through May 31st, representatives of the organization will be at Sportsman’s Warehouse, 2323 North Reserve Street in Missoula to raffle off amazing prizes and educate the public about the struggles our veterans face. The Missoula Public Library is offering a free afternoon matinee movie, tomorrow Wednesday 28th beginning at 2pm at the library, 301 East Main Street in Missoula. Call 721-2665 for more information or to find out what movie will be showing.

The Montana Farmers Union is offering a tour of the Wirth’s Rocking Z Ranch north of Helena on Wednesday, May 28th beginning at 2 pm. The operation includes a biodiesel processor and an irrigation engine that burns straight vegetable oil and biodiesel. The tour is free but registration in encouraged. Artists interested in having a booth during the Third Annual River City Roots Festival August 23rd and 24th at Caras Park in Missoula need to send in their entries by May 30th. All artists work must be handcrafted and exhibited by the artist themselves. Applications must include six digital images and a $25 application fee. Call the Missoula Downtown Association at 543-4238 for more information.

This free telephone information and referral service has trained staff who will help analyze your unique problems and refer you to the social services designed to meet your needs. 211, First Call For Help is a service of the Human Resource Council and United Way of Missoula County.
