This American Life for April 22, 2008 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM [Program Website]
Today's Highlight: "Mistakes Were Made" It's the late 60's and in the new technology of cryonics, one man sees a business opportunity. Freezing people when they die so that they can be reanimated by scientists of the future, he thinks, how hard can that be? Pretty hard, it turns out. And one of the hardest parts...admitting to the family members of people you've improperly frozen that you screwed up. This and other stories about the difficulty of taking responsibility for failure.
This American Life is an award-winning critically acclaimed weekly program describing and documenting contemporary American life. Each week a theme is chosen, and host Ira Glass and a variety of writers and performers share stories in a range of styles: monologues, documentaries, short radio plays, “found recordings,” and original works for radio. Music underscores many stories.
