Today's Highlight: Winona LaDuke, Executive Director Honor the Earth The University of Montana President's Lecture Series
Lecture given on Monday, February 25, 2008
Winona LaDuke is a leading activist for Native American and environmental causes. In 1996 and 2000, she was the running mate of Ralph Nader on the Green Party ticket. The author of Recovering the Sacred: The Power of Naming and Claiming (2005), she reflected in her lecture what will be required for the creation of just societies in harmony with nature. The lecture was presented in conjunction with the Montana Museum of Art & Culture’s Impacted Nations, an exhibit addressing the conflict between Native people’s relationship to the earth and the political and economic forces that undermine it.
