Today's Highlight: "Women Rising XVI: Civil Disobedience and Resistance"

Women are gaining influence as leaders throughout the world, fighting for peace, justice, the environment and civil society. In this program, we profile two international change-makers dedicated to nonviolent civil disobedience and resistance. Medea Benjamin is a U.S. activist. She's taken her anti-war, anti-militarism, pro-democracy and pro-environment activism to new heights with her group CODEPINK. Saw Myat Mar is a Burmese activist who has worked closely with Nobel Prize laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, to establish Burma's "National League for Democracy."

Featuring:

Medea Benjamin, CODEPINK co-founder; Saw Myat Mar, helped establish Burma's "National League for Democracy"; Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Prime Minister-elect Burma and Nobel Prize laureate.
