Dunsmore is a University of Montana humanities professor emeritus currently teaching English at UM-Western. He has twice been short-listed to the Governor for the position of Montana Poet Laureate. PuddingHouse Publications just released Roger Dunsmore: Greatest Hits, 1969-2005, an invitational retrospective, 2007. And, his poetry was recently included in Poems Across the Big Sky: An Anthology of Montana Poets.
A selection of poems from Dunsmore's third full-length volume, Tiger Hill: China Poems, received an individual artists fellowship from the Montana Arts Council. A collection of his essays on American Indian Literature, Earth's Mind, was published by University of New Mexico Press in 1997."
