This American Life for March 04, 2008 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM [Program Website]
Today's Highlight: "Human Resources"
The true story of a secret room in the New York City Board of Education building. Teachers are told to report there instead of their classrooms. No reason is usually given. When they arrive, they find they've been put on some kind of probationary status, and they must report to the secret room every day until the matter is cleared up. Plus other stories of the uneasy interaction between humans and their institutions.
This American Life is an award-winning critically acclaimed weekly program describing and documenting contemporary American life. Each week a theme is chosen, and host Ira Glass and a variety of writers and performers share stories in a range of styles: monologues, documentaries, short radio plays, “found recordings,” and original works for radio. Music underscores many stories.
