Today's Highlight: "The Dixie Stompers" The Dixie Stompers were not only one of the hottest of the black dance-orchestras around New York in the mid-/late-1920s, but their leader and arranger were the pioneers of the music-form which became big-band swing in the 1930s. Their real name was the Fletcher Henderson Orchestra, and here's some of their best, under an assumed name
