Hager wrote the text for a new book published by FarCountry Press that features the photographs of Evelyn Cameron. The book, titled Evelyn Cameron: Montana's Frontier Photographer, was recently chosen as a Montana Book Award Honor Book for 2007. Hager has lectured for the Montana Committee for the Humanities Speakers’ Bureau since 1996, giving talks on Evelyn Cameron and on her own historic preservation photography. Hager’s large format photographs are featured in Conveniences Sorely Needed: Montana’s Historic Highway Bridges 1860-1956, written by Jon Axline for the Montana Historical Society.

And here’s a quote from Jenny Shank, book reviewer for NewWest.net: “It’s impossible to come away from Evelyn Cameron: Montana’s Frontier Photographer without being charmed by the person at the center of it, a woman who lived so vibrantly that some of that energy is palpable still, eighty years after her death.””
