Today's Highlight: American Music Abroad —Alvin Atkinson and the Sound Merchants offer their healing swing to the Middle East. Former JLCO pianist Richard Johnson takes his band AFAR to Africa. The Ari Roland Quartet sends a message to Russia. Jazz at Lincoln Center, under the aegis of the US State Department, continues a tradition that began with Ellington and Armstrong - sending American jazz ensembles around the world.
