Today's Highlight: Partnership health center and Montana Dental Association will hold “Give Kids a Smile Day” by offering free, dental services to children from low-income families. This is for Missoula and the surrounding areas and will be held from 8 to 10 am on January 11th and 18th at the Missoula Health Department located at 301 West alder. Call 728-9442.

Saint Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center will hold the following events this month:

Tonight there will be a “Wisdom for Women Free Public lecture” at 6:30 pm. Dr. Rob Downey will speak about a holistic and integrated approach that helps patients manage their health in a balanced way during this hour long lecture. Held in the Broadway Building Conference Center. 327-3057

There will be a helmet sale at discounted prices on the 16th from 10 1 pm in the 5th floor lobby. 329-5660.

The brain injury support group will meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. 728-8260.

The Mended Hearts support group meets the second Monday of each month at 2 m 329-5842.

AARP Driver Safety Classes will be held February 6th and 7th. Preregister by calling 329-2905

Bridging the gap, the 4th annual integrated medicine and health conference will be held on February 8th and 9th. Register by the 15th by calling 329-5640.

The YWCA in Great Falls will hold the 2nd luncheon in its Luncheon Lecture series on Friday, the 11th at noon at the center located at 220 2nd street North. enjoy flute music, a catered lunch and a motivational message presented by Gerry Jennings, a local winter sports enthusiast. Cost is $8 for members and $10 for non members. For tickets call 452-1315.

Also at the Great Falls YWCA, Curly Bear Wagner will give a free presentation featuring the Story of Running Eagle, an extraordinary women warrior of the Blackfeet tribe. This will be held on January 12th at 2 pm at the center.

The center will also hold the following classes this winter:

An introduction to the art and science of filmmaking starting tonight and runs through February 20th held from 6 to 8 pm. Cost is $75 for non members and $65 for members. No film making experience is necessary.

A bookmaking class will be held starting January 10th through the 31st from 5:30 to 7 pm. Cost is $60 for members and $65 for non members.

A Quick cooking class will be held staring tonight through the 29th from 5:30 to 7 pm. Cost is $40 and $50 for non members. To register for any of these classes call 452-1315.

The Missoula Public Library will hold book group meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This weeks discussion will be on “Revolutionary Characters” by historian Gordon Wood starting at 7 tonight or 10 am on Thursday. 721-2665 for more information on book group meetings.

The Missoula Children’s Museum hold early literacy programs for ages 3 to 7 on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 am which includes interactive story time, art projects and games. The toddler playgroup will be held today at 11 am and the 22nd at 11 am. World of wonder for ages 3 to 9 will be held on the 10th and 15th at 3:30 pm. Seuss Saturday will be on the 19th at 11 am for ages 3 to 6, and Healthy U, a program designed to help kids learn about healthy lifestyle choices will be held on the 17th. There will also be an arts and culture program with local artists on the 25th and 29th. 541-7529 info on any of these events.

The Missoula Senior Center will hold a pancake dinner on the 10th from 4 to 6 pm. Cost is $5 per person. They will also have bingo from 6 to 8. and on the 12th enjoy musicians Fred and Joy of Heart to Heart for dancing and for your listening pleasure. Cost is $5.

The Multiple Sclerosis Association will hold a support group meeting on the 9th at 1 pm at the Saint James healthcare dining room B in Butte for a no host lunch. 494-4037.

The Western Montana Genealogical Society will hold a free public lecture by author Susan Reneau about her biography on Sergeant George Howard, or Moccasin Joe who served in the 2nd calvalry in Montana from 1872 to 1877. This will be held at the Public Library at 7 pm in the meeting room. 728-6615

The International Dyslexia Association will hold a lecture regarding what you need to know about pre-college skills and college services for students with learning disabilities. This will be held tonight at 7 pm at the Western Montana Rite Care Language and Literacy Clinic at the University of Montana curry health center located at 634 Eddy avenue in Missoula. 825-0163.

Also tonight, the Ninemile Wildlife Work Group will hold a free slide presentation on Planting for Wildlife, at the nine mile ranger station located west of Frenchtown at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served and children are welcome to attend. 6261919

The Clay Studio of Missoula will be holding classes this month including: Wood Fire Workshops starting on the 15th from 6 to 9 pm. Cost is $200 for this 8 week session. Mold making, a 7 week session beginning January 30th, beginning pottery starting jan 10 for an 8 week session and classes for children ages 4 to 10, and homeschool children.
