Today's Highlight: "The Music of Thad Jones"
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis honors legendary trumpeter and composer Thad Jones. After Jones made big band arrangements for Count Basie in the '50s, he joined drummer Mel Lewis in the unique Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra. Its members Jerry Dodgion and Billy Harper join the JLCO on Jones's classics 'The Deacon,' 'Once Around,' and 'Mornin' Reverend.' Written by David Goren. Ed Bradley hosts.
