Today's Highlight: The Whitefish Theatre Co will be presenting a festive addition to you holiday plans, the musical classic, “Cinderella.” The play will be performed in the O’Shaughnessy Center for three consecutive weekends beginning this Friday, December 7th and ending on December 22nd. Sign interpretation for the hearing impaired is available on Sunday, December 9th at the 4:00 p.m. performance. A presentation on Anger Management will be given by Brad Boylan at Families First, 815 E. Front Street in Missoula from Noon to 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 6th. This two-hour class is intended to help participants learn to keep their cool. To register, call Jordan at 721-7690.
Kiwanis Basketball, a free program for Missoula area students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades is currently in progress. Sign-up information and forms can be obtained in Middle School offices or directly on the Kiwanis Club Web site at www.missoulakiwanis.com. The sign-ups will continue until Monday, December 17th.
“Game On,” the Missoula Public Library’s gaming tournament for teens ages 13 – 18 will take place this Friday, December 7th from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. The food is free, but teens have to earn their prizes. “Game On” is held every first Friday of the month and for those who would like to attend this program, but may need special assistance, please call the library in advance at 721- BOOK.
The Butte Art Heritage Revival Center will be hosting a Winter Gala at the Charles W. Clark Chateau this Saturday, December 8th. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6:00 p.m. with dinner provided by the Uptown Café at 7:00. Dinner tickets are $60 per person or $55 for members. Shop for nature-oriented gifts handmade by regional artisans when the Montana Natural History Center will host a Wild Gift Bazaar this Saturday, December 8th from 10 am to 4 pm. Kids’ activities will run from 10:30 – 3 p.m. where kids can make their own pine cone bird feeders and paint polar bears. If you’d like more information, call the Natural History Center at 327-0405
Join the Sunrise Rotary Club of Cranbrook, Canada, for a Holiday Festival on Ice show this Sunday, December 9th at 4:00 pm in the Cranbrook Recreation Complex in the City Center. This Holiday Skating Show features US Olympic silver medalist and national champion, Sasha Cohen, and Olympic gold medalists Sale and Pelletier and other ice skating champions. The Alpine Artisans will hold their annual Christmas Holiday Social this Sunday, December 9th at 4:00 p.m. in Seeley Lake Historic Barn. The Headwaters RC&D and the Small Business Development Center will present a workshop on evaluating a business idea next Tuesday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Business Development Center, 305 West Mercury in Butte. Valuable information regarding business plans, marketing, industry profiles, cash flow projections, loan information and other topics will be discussed. The Davidson Companies are sponsoring the “Tree of Love,” currently on display in the Davidson Building Lobby, 8 Third Street North in Great Falls. Under this program, gift tags are placed on the tree that the public is invited to take a tag, purchase the gift identified on the tag, and return the gift, with the tag attached by December 18th. These gifts are intended for homebound senior citizens and will be distributed before Christmas by a group of volunteers from Malmstrom Air Force Base. Please call 791-7465 for more information.
