Today's Highlight: Hilton Ruiz & Cesar Camargo Mariano —Two virtuosos bring rhythms from across the border to bebop and swing inspired piano styles. The radiant Hilton Ruiz, who tragically passed away in June of 2006, performs an energetic set from the Afro-Cuban canon. Cesar Carmargo Mariano moves listeners with savory compositions and arrangements from Brazil.
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Peabody Award–winning radio series, Jazz From Lincoln Center, is hosted by Wynton Marsalis and broadcast weekly to over 240 public radio affiliates nationwide through the Jazz Satellite Network. The show features the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with contemporary jazz composers and performers.
