Living on Earth for October 07, 2007 11:17 AM - 11:38 AM [Program Website]
Sound journalism for a Finite Planet. This environmental news and information program is hosted by NPR’s Steve Curwood.
The award winning Living on Earth program delves into the leading issues affecting the world we inhabit, with news, features, interviews and commentary on a broad range of ecological issues. This dynamic program covers topics from the small challenges of everyday life to the future state of our environment, our health and our well-being.
Living on Earth examines how the human species may evolve; how our relationships with the natural world, other species and other members of our own species may change; and how trends in science, technology and medicine will change how we live, how we think and even our sense of who we are.
Living on Earth draws from an impressive array of experts, commentators, and journalists — including Mark Hertsgaard, author of Earth Odyssey; Janet Raloff of Science News; author Sy Montgomery; and award-winning producer Terry Fitzpatrick — to produce a compelling hour of radio journalism.
Living on Earth has won numerous awards including the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors Association, two Gracie Allen Awards, several New York Festivals Awards, the National Federation of Community Broadcasters Community Program Awards, and an award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
