Today's Highlight: Everyone is invited to go globetrotting with Chris Sharma when he comes to the big screen in tomorrow night’s viewing of the film, “King of Lines!” Join the University of Montana’s outdoor program at 7:00 pm Thursday night in the Urey Underground Lecture Hall in Missoula to watch Sharma as he seeks out the world’s most difficult and beautiful climbs. The Flathead-Kootenai Chapter of Montana Wilderness Association cordially invites the public to their annual Wildlife Film Festival that will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday night, September 28th at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Films that will be shown include “Christmas in Yellowstone,” “Irani Wildlife,” “Snowies – the Snowy owls in MT,” and “Yoki’s Family” - a short documentary on the western Montana bear dogs. The Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a brown bag forum this Friday, September 21st from 11:30 – 1:00 pm featuring the candidates running for the
City Council in Wards 4, 5, and 6. The two candidates from each ward will be allowed a 2-minute introduction and will be asked six questions with a minute to respond. The Montana Artists Refuge in Basin will be hosting the 7th Annual American Indian Artists Residency and Symposium this weekend, September 28 – 30th. The MOMS Club of Butte and Anaconda will be hosting a Kid’s Fest this Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Butte Plaza Mall, 3100 Harrison Ave in Butte. Activities include a jumpy castle, monster-sized sports, a hoop shoot, a toddler play area, as well as food and raffle tickets for purchase. Informational booths will be available throughout the mall and all proceeds will benefit the Minor’s Pit Play Area Project. For more information, call 498-2395.

A Send Off performance by the regional award-winning Five Valley Chorus of the Sweet Adelines will be given at 3:00 pm this Sunday, September 30th in the Hellgate Elementary Auditorium, 2385 Flynn Lane in Missoula. The Sweet Adelines will be traveling to International Competition in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on October 9th. Tune up your driving skills with an AARP Driver Safety course to be held at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby on Monday and Tuesday, October 1st and 2nd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm each day. The Bitterroot Valley Chorus in Hamilton will begin rehearsals for its 35th Annual Christmas Concert, and new singers are encouraged to join. Rehearsals begin at 6:30 pm this Monday, October 1st in the Hamilton High School Choir room. Singers are asked to bring $20 to cover the cost of their music, and the concert will be held in the Hamilton Performing Arts Center on December 15th and 16th.

On Monday, October 1st Carroll College music professor, Dr. Lynn Petersen will be performing an original composition, “Mary Dyer, Martyr,” at 7:30 pm in the St John’s Lutheran Church, 1000 Helena Avenue in Helena. This free performance is based on seven poems selected from Helen Marie Casey’s book, Inconsiderate Madness, and the performance will include the talents of the poet, Helen Marie Casey, and mezzo-soprano Kimberly Gratland James.
