Today's Highlight: "New Orleans Faker-Bands of the 1920s"
Program Name : Jazz Archives
Date Of Broadcast : Sunday 091607
Host Producer : Joe Korona
In the mid-1910s, the Creoles' jazz-music of New Orleans was being copied and commercially-performed and recorded by white groups whom the Creole musicians called "Faker-Bands." It wasn't up to the same quality of the Creole jazz musicianers, but it was still pretty good music, nonetheless. Today's program features recordings made in New Orleans in the mid-1920s.
