Today's Highlight: "Willie Nelson Sings the Blues with Wynton Marsalis" Two bright stars, country maverick Willie Nelson and jazz icon Wynton Marsalis, unexpectedly meet on common ground: the blues. This soulful concert features songs by well-known American composers such as Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, and Merle Travis, as well as songs written by less prominent blues men Harry Warren, Spencer Williams, and Jimmy Reed.
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Peabody Award–winning radio series, Jazz From Lincoln Center, is hosted by Wynton Marsalis and broadcast weekly to over 240 public radio affiliates nationwide through the Jazz Satellite Network. The show features the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with contemporary jazz composers and performers.
Jazz at Lincoln Center is the world's largest not-for-profit arts organization committed to promoting the appreciation and understanding of jazz through performance, education, and preservation.
