Musicians' Spotlight for August 29, 2007 11:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Today's Highlight: Brian Kopper hosts Bo Ramsey & Greg Brown Part 2 An Encore Edition
Bo Ramsey is a player's player. His funneling guitar and signature sound can be heard on many of Greg's recordings along with his own projects. He has played a vital role in shaping Eastern Iowa's distinctive blues-rock hybrid and has released 4 albums that showcase that unique style. Along with his touring and session work, Bo is an acclaimed producer who has worked with Lucinda Williams, Kevin Gordon, Iris Dement, Pieta Brown, and Ani Difranco just to name a few.
Greg Brown is a folk icon. He has earned two Grammy nominations and has recorded over 26 albums, not included the numerous compilation projects and appearances on other artist's recordings. Brown's songwriting has been lauded by many, and his songs have been performed by Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Michael Johnson, Shawn Colvin, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. This is Greg's 4th time as a guest on Musician's Spotlight in the past decade and he is accompanied by guitarist Bo Ramsey.
Join me for a special interview with Greg Brown and Bo Ramsey. Part 1 will showcase music from Greg's latest release, The Evening Call. Part 2 will feature music from Bo's latest project, Stranger Blues.

Shawn Colvin, Patty Larkin, and Leo Kottke have all stopped by the Montana Public Radio studios to play a little and talk with Brian Kopper and John Floridis. Performers talk about the inspiration behind their music and what it's like to both create and perform the music.
Montana artists like Zoe Wood and Wilson & McKee get equal time. Each week, hosts Brian Kopper and John Floridis, composers and performers themselves, give listeners a glimpse into the lives and art of the modern day troubadour.
